I've spent over 30 years working in environmental and earth sciences. My experience spans government, academia and a wide range of industry from mineral exploration to agriculture. I'm a self-confessed "data nerd" with an insatiable curiosity about how things work and a deep love of the natural environment.

What I Do.

My professional origins are in environmental consulting, going back to the early '90's. Besides extensive operational experience, my environmental reports now number in the several hundreds and span over a number of state and territory jurisdictions. I'm also experienced as an expert witness in legal hearings. My particular interest is hydrogeology, having spent over 3 years working in research in this area.

Waste
After working with the Tasmanian EPA in waste regulation I joined the team that developed and implemented the Waste and Resource Recovery Act (2022). Tasmanians may know me from my work towards implementing the landfill levy and developing the Tasmanian waste data system.

I understand the power of good data to help explain complex situations and to communicate a "story" to stakeholders, including regulators and decision-makers. As a result I've developed a three-fold approach to site data and a "people first" ethos for designing data systems.
